Glen Oaks Third Grade Habitat Blog
3rd grade classes at Glen Oaks School are doing something new and exciting for science! We are learning about 7 different habitats: tundra, forest, prairie, desert, rainforest, salt water and fresh water.
Students will begin by spending 3 days in their own homeroom learning about the location, climate, plants, and animals of a specific habitat. Students will then rotate every 3 days to a different classroom to learn about another habitat with another teacher!
At the end of the unit students will choose one habitat and they will complete a project, based on that habitat. Students will have a variety of choices, such as creating a PowerPoint presentation, making a video, or constructing a diorama about their chosen habitat. The projects will be displayed for other classmates, parents, and community members to view.
